Causeacon was by far one of the greatest experiences of my life. Seeing hundreds of nerds, geeks, and anyone in between or outside of the spectrum gathered in one place was honestly a bit life changing.
To find out that so many people in my area relate to the same things that I do. To see normally introverted people behaving so openly in a crowded setting, myself included, was amazing. Causeacon was an event where I truly felt at home, fitting in and relating to more people that I ever could have imagined.
My personal favorite room would have to be the video game room. I was able to comfortably participate in new games with new people without feeling pressured about my skills. Being able to share my love of video games and more with other people is something I never thought I would be able to do, yet Causeacon made it come true. My favorite event was the Saturday night rave. I can not put into words how much fun it was.
Personally, I’m not a huge dancer, but being in a crowd of relate-able people I was able to relax and genuinely enjoy myself whilst also tearing up the dance floor. I received overwhelming support and kindness over the whole duration of the convention from everyone who participated in the con. In sum, it was an honor to be able to partake in the amazing event for an amazing reason that is Causeacon.
This was a good article! I’m glad that Causeacon was a safe and open place for nerds of all kinds could connect with each other <3
